Meepo Board Truck Recall - 23rd April 2018
Dear Meepo Riders,
This is an important announcement regarding the truck issue that recently surfaced in the Meepo community. First of all, I would like to apologize for the problem and to those who are involved.
When the first Meepo customer broke his truck, I assumed this was an isolated incident and thought nothing more of it besides offering a new, replacement truck.
However, after several more customer had their trucks fail, I immediately became concerned and began to further explore the issue. Our internal investigation allowed us to pinpoint that the issue was due to a batch of trucks from our supplier that didn't keep up with their usual quality. This affects approximately 500 Meepo riders who received their board between early March to Middle of April, 2018. There is no way to know if anyone else among these 500 users will see issues with their truck and therefore I have decided that it is my responsibility to replace all the trucks for these riders at our expense. The last thing I want to see is someone getting hurt over this.
All customers who are involved, will receive a confirmation email from firstname.lastname@example.org . A video with instructions on how to change the truck is now up on YouTube (https://youtu.be/8VXMFT2Gcrs). Please share this so all those involved can be informed. To the other Meepo riders that are outside of this batch, you can rest assured that your truck is of good quality and will hold up well, as thousands of Meepo riders around the world can attest. Going forward, I will be upgrading the truck to an even better aluminum alloy and will be instituting tighter quality control. Both these changes will ensure that truck failure never happen again.
I would also like to take this chance to thank those who spoke up for us on this issue. It was really touching and I will work to make sure your trust in us is well-placed.
I again apologize to everyone involved. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Ride safe & always wear protective gear.
Kieran - Founder/CEO of MeepoBoard
