We’ve officially acquired ShredLights, the leading brand for electric skateboard lighting. For over a decade, ShredLights has built a reputation for quality, innovation, and community — values we share deeply at Meepo. This move brings two trusted names in electric skateboarding under one roof, and we couldn’t be more excited about what it means for our riders.
Let me tell you why we made this move.
We’ve always admired what Eric and the ShredLights team created — from their first 3D printed lights to becoming the go-to choice for over 75,000 riders in 70+ countries. Their products are tough, thoughtful, and built to last; all things that complement our mission of making fast, fun, and affordable electric mobility for everyone.
We see this acquisition as a long-term investment in electric skateboarding. The market has slowed in recent years, but we’re not slowing down. We’re doubling down and bringing ShredLights into the Meepo ecosystem as part of that strategy to grow smarter and serve our community even better.
We’re also thrilled to welcome Eric Birkemeier, ShredLights' founder, to the Meepo team as our new Creative Director. Eric has over 8 years of hands-on experience in the electric vehicle space and will play a big role in helping us grow our brand and deepen our connection with riders in the United States.
This is just the beginning. We’re not just adding products, we’re combining two passionate communities and bringing new energy into the world of electric skateboarding.
