good. ESC -
Compared to the old version, the slot for the on/off button has changed. The 5-pin Molex connector is now located behind the hub motor control wireing
After over 2000 miles of hard riding and 2 extra sets of wheel sleaves it, the stock esc finally gave out on me! Took about 15-20 minutes to remove/install/pair the esc's, but now its like new.
I bought the board off marketplace but the ESC was broken. After fixing it it now works 100% better. The battery lasts longer, it’s way faster, quieter, smoother and more enjoyable to ride. The only downside is sides were it took a month to get here, but that’s understandable because it came from across seas, and it did come in the timeframe they said it would (10-40 days).
I also would have liked to see instructions on how to install it or reconnect the remote. That took some internet searching to figure out but in the end I got it.
Last thing. I got some extra screws in the box but they weren’t necessary useful. It would have been cool to see like a complementary sticker or something.
Good overall.
ESC on my V3 popped and started smoking on the way to work after 5 years of occasional rides through the neighborhood. I contacted support and they offered me a discount on a replacement. The design has slightly changed since 2020's model, but the plugs make sense and I'm back on four wheels! Replacement took about 10 minutes with a socket on a power drill.
For meepo V3 it fits. The skateboard is as good as new. After connecting all the wires, you need to pair it with the old remote. Press the power button on the skateboard for 7 seconds. Then turn on the remote.
Happy to say it only took eight days for UK delivery of this Meepo V3 ESC, works perfectly fine with my Meepo V3S hub motors. Curiously, it also came with a heatsink baseplate too! (which you'll need a 5.5mm spanner for to remove the ESC from, for DIY parts projects)
Brake mode 1 feels as strong as you'll ever need with stock 90mm wheels, (use larger 105mm wheels to tame the stopping distances) anything stronger brake modes and you're likely to be thrown off this board like the older LingYi ESCs; was surprised that even on the V3 ESC's lowest brake setting you can skid to a stop.
This still retains its push to start features too, and It's an improvement over older Lingyi ESCs but I'm guessing Meepo's later V4/V4S or V5 series is more improved on the braking curve.
My board has 3200 miles on it and this is the second esc I have bought for my board meepo makes a high quality board that lasts they have a customer for life thank you for selling us a product that lasts
This is an easy install. After install you will notice an extra port. This port is for the AWD version of the Meepo board. It's good to take pictures as you disassemble your board and which plugs go where. This is a super easy install, I give it a 2/10 for difficulty. Pairing your Meepo board with your remote is also easy. There is a YouTube video which shows you how to do it, takes about 20 seconds. Might be a good idea for Meepo to have the install video and pairing video posted on their website connected to the parts.
Took the old one out and put the new one in. Took about 5 minutes to figure out how to pair my remote but after it worked like new. Been on a few skates and really glad to have my board back.
Received the ESC for V3 board and the installation went great. I ended up reusing my existing screws but MEEPO was kind enough to provide the tools and backup screws/cable ties that I needed. Turned on and had to reconnect the controller without much problem. I lost the ~1K of miles tracking that were on the old ESC but that is a reasonable given that this ESC was required to get up and running again.
Only put 5 star to get my review to the top. After 26 miles on my new replacement esc it broke. I have gone through 3 replacement escs and just had to buy a new one. Be careful with budget board parts and the meepo brand.
I upgraded from the v2 esc to the v3 and the acceleration was actually a lot smoother. Also, I thought that it performed more consistently throughout the duration of the battery’s charge
I am currently building a new board with a landyachts deck there will be better upcoming pictures, I am in the process of making my own version of cloud wheels as they aren't compatible with. Meepo yet but otherwise,Meepo
is awesome, great part, great service and Complete transparency when dealing with any issues should one arise
The ESC for Meepo V3 worked fine, but I couldn't find any YouTube videos of how to replace the new version of the ESC. I only found videos of older versions.
