These wheels never made it to the board. As advertised with pulleys and belts not sent with pulleys and belts and then they tell me they understand why it’s confusing because there’s a picture of pulleys and belts with it, but they do not come with it. Shame on you. Very unfortunate because I enjoy the meat brand and liked the guy who represented the company, but this is really unfortunate. Just to let you know the rover has so much concave in the W shape. It’s very uncomfortable.

The comfort increase was about equivalent to the loss of range at my weight, 200Lbs/ 90KG. On hub motors there is likely no better way to increase comfort over sidewalk cracks and super rough surfaces, especially once they warm up. 'Comfort grip' is a great description, but they come at a cost of range and torque and in my case, top speed. When forced to turn over, or traverse across loose surfaces, confidence In not streetfacing is greatly increased. I have not switched back to urethane on my daily driver, but on my Mini DIY I have returned urethane to the front truck and intend to return it to the rears as well, and save the rubber hub sleeves for my Daily.

I got the Hub motor Kit. The motor sleeves are rubber too, and they have the hollow holes as well when looked at from the inside. They are mounted on aluminum, not plastic. These definitely ride a lot softer and the grip is excellent. Carving over rougher surfaces where urethane might have one kind of sketched out, these rubber wheels give supreme confidence. I weigh 200 Lbs/ 90.9 KG and I am probably a bit heavy for these, especially once I get them hot on a hot day. They will use about 20% more battery to go the same distance as 105mm urethane donut sleeves. I have lost some top speed and torque. They are described as comfort grip, and they absolutely deliver on both, but they do use more battery and there is some loss of accelleration and braking. I had to set my wheel size to 108mm for the speedometer to agree with a radar speed sign. Set it to 107 and the speedometer reads slow by a little bit, but this will obviously change as they wear. I am kind of torn as to whether I am going to keep these on, or switch back to urethane. They are far more comfortable on rough roads and when going off road, they are confidence inspiring, but when on the smooth stuff they make a lot more noise, and I lose some top speed, and it takes longer to get there and uses significantly more battery to cruise nearly the same speeds. It is absolutely great that these rubber wheels and sleeves exist. I think at my weight, I would benefit from a slightly harder durometer of rubber, especially in hot midday temperatures.

I gotta say I was a little skeptical about getting these wheels but honestly there the best wheels I’ve ever had on any of my skateboards. I’ve put 200 miles on them and they handled it perfectly. These have really smoothed out my commute around my university which is known for construction debris. Tactile pavements, cracks and sidewalk seams feel smoother, the board is much quieter running over these, and the occasional patch of dirt or grass isn’t a death sentence anymore. Only drawbacks are a loss in acceleration but not really in top speed, you’ll just take a second or two longer to get there, and an increase in battery use, used to go 4 days going to class without charging but I’m down to 3 which is still great given the inclines and my combined weight. All in all I think it’s such a good upgrade that the whole mini series should come with these, unless you are on a flawless surface, these are smoother than the stock wheels.
